Tigger is a young, three-legged pup who doesn’t let anything slow him down. Highly intelligent and amazingly resilient, he’s a happy-go-lucky goofball who loves attention and is eager to please. His favourite activities include fetch, tug-of-war, and chase-me games — though he’s also content entertaining himself with toys and chewies. After playtime, he’s just as happy to flop down at your feet and soak up pets and cuddles.

Tigger has done very well with his training so far. He’s fully crate trained, house trained, knows his name, and has a solid recall. He’s mastered “sit,” “lay down,” and “quiet,” and is still working on “leave it” and “stay/wait.” He’s attended group training classes and continues to improve with repetition and consistency - he’s a smart boy who loves to learn.

That said, Tigger does have some special challenges. He is reactive to other dogs - especially those his size or larger. His reactions can look and sound big, but they come from fear, not aggression. With continued positive training and management, he has already made progress and shows real potential to keep improving. Because of this, Tigger will do best as the only dog in the home and with adopters who are committed to his ongoing training. Due to his reactivity, he would be best suited to an adult-only home or a home with older, dog-savvy children, as his strong reactions could be overwhelming for younger kids.

Tigger doesn’t require long daily walks (they’re not really his style, as keeping a slow pace is tricky on three legs). Instead, he thrives with playtime and short bursts of exercise, where he can run like the wind at his own speed.

At the end of the day, Tigger is an incredibly easy dog to love. He’s goofy, affectionate, smart, and loyal. He loves his crate, happily goes to bed when asked, and truly lives for being close to his people. With the right home - one that offers structure, patience, and plenty of love - Tigger will make a wonderful companion and best friend.
