Our Cause
Founded in 2012, Saskatoon Dog Rescue is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of neglected and abandoned dogs across Saskatchewan. We work closely with other rescues, shelters, communities, and individuals to ensure all dogs find their perfect furever home.
Supporting our community is important to us. We partner with resource-limited communities across Saskatchewan to help control the overpopulation of dogs through our Spay/Neuter & Return program. Through this program, we are able to help communities in need gain access to the medical care they need, while allowing the dog to stay with their loving family.
At Saskatoon Dog Rescue, we believe every dog deserves a happy tail. As a volunteer-based non-profit organization, we rely on our community for volunteers and donations to help us reach our goal.
Our Actions
Dogs come into our care from a variety of backgrounds, so there is a lot that goes on behind the scenes before becoming available for adoption! Our team of volunteers set up veterinary appointments to ensure our dogs are healthy both physically, mentally, and behaviourally. Once the dog has been deemed healthy, they are placed with a suitable foster family. The foster family provides training and any needed medical care while the dog awaits their furever family.
Our Impact
Since 2012, Saskatoon Dog Rescue has worked with various communities and individuals across Saskatchewan to rehome over 700 dogs.
Through our Spay/Neuter & Return program, we have been able to help provide access to medical care to individuals who otherwise couldn't afford it. This program has a significant impact on controlling the overpopulation of dogs without homes, and helps to keep dogs in the care of their loving families.
We've worked with communities and individuals across Saskatchewan to not only improve the lives of countless dogs, but their owners as well.
