Who We Are
Founded in 2012, Saskatoon Dog Rescue is a volunteer-based non-profit committed to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming neglected and abandoned dogs across Saskatchewan. We work with rescues, shelters, communities, and individuals to help every dog find their perfect furever home.
How We Help
Dogs come into our care from all kinds of situations - rescues in the field, outreach to partner communities, and owner surrenders. Before we can take them in, our first step is to find them a loving foster home.
Once in care, every dog receives a full medical exam and any treatment they need at our partnered veterinary clinics. They’re also evaluated behaviourally to ensure they’re ready for adoption. Our foster families are the heart of this work, providing love, structure, training, and support until each dog meets their forever family.
One of our most impactful programs is Spay/Neuter & Return, run in partnership with remote northern communities where veterinary care is often non-existent. By providing essential services at no cost, we help control overpopulation, improve animal welfare, and keep pets in the homes that love them.
Our Impact
Each year, we rescue and rehome more than 200 dogs, sometimes close to 400, depending on the number of foster homes available. With the help of our foster network and community partners, we’ve changed the lives of thousands of dogs and the people who care for them.
