FROM THE FOSTER HOME
Meet Merlin – a 4-year-old sweetheart who has come such a long way since arriving in foster care. Before coming into rescue, Merlin lived as a stray and was mistreated, but he’s proven himself to be incredibly resilient and ready for a fresh start in a loving home.
In the home, Merlin is wonderfully laid back and quiet—his foster hasn’t heard him bark once! He doesn’t react to dogs or people walking past the house, nor when he encounters them on walks. He enjoys a good stroll, soaking up the sunshine, and then curling up for a nap. He’s also fully crate-trained and settles well when left alone (after a few minutes of complaining).
Merlin is a big fan of toys—especially squeaky ones! He even picked out his very own toy at the pet store (a squeaky pickle), which he proudly carries everywhere. He also loves treats, which makes training fun and rewarding. He is a very smart boy!
This gentle boy has shown himself to be very friendly with people, including men and children (ages 5–12). While his interactions with kids have been brief, he has always been polite. He loves being close to his people, whether it’s cuddling on the couch, lying on your feet, or following you from room to room just to keep you company.
Merlin gets along wonderfully with his two foster dog siblings and his foster’s parents’ dog, though he has met a few dogs he didn’t care for. He can be a bit selective with canine friends—but then again, not everyone likes every person they meet! His experience with cats is unknown and he can get a bit worked up when he spots small animals like rabbits or little dogs, so he would do best in a home without small pets.
Merlin also travels like a pro—he loves car rides and makes an excellent co-pilot.
With his sweet, loyal personality, Merlin is the perfect mix of adventure buddy and cuddle companion. He’s ready to bring love, joy, and squeaky toy pickle parades to his forever family!
