FROM THE FOSTER HOME

Meet your new best friend, Countess Luann! Also known as Luann, Lulu, or Lu. Luann has been a sweetheart since the day she stepped into our home. Luann hasn’t met a person she doesn’t like, and you will never have trouble finding her because she prefers to be in the same room with you whenever possible. She is at her happiest when she can accompany you around the house doing chores and have a long nap next to you on the couch.

She’s been remarkably relaxed considering the husky stereotypes and easily took to housetraining. She is very respectful of the house and makes sure only to chew on her toys (and the cat’s toys). With everything being new and exciting, she’s still working hard on her leash skills and getting better every day. She has learned how to sit and is getting much better at not jumping for her food. This smart girl will need your help learning more commands, but we have no doubt she’ll be a quick learner. It helps that she is food-motivated. Her fosters have never heard her bark, but she does whine a bit when left alone. Her first night with us, she protested being left alone by showing us her beautiful howl, and now that she’s relaxed, she hasn’t shown it to us since. She is also working hard on her recall and doing extremely well. Despite being a tall girl, she doesn’t take up much space as she is comfiest curled up in a ball.

Luann will need a yard with high fences because she has a newfound joy in gracefully jumping over the short fence at her foster’s house. She has 3 cat roommates that she’s currently living with, and she doesn’t chase them. She would love to be buddies with the cats but is respectful when they politely decline her offer of friendship. She loves playing with dogs, and we feel confident that she would thrive in a home with another dog with a slow introduction. Luann has shown some resource/food guarding around other dogs and will need to be slowly introduced and possibly fed separately until she feels secure in her new home.

Luann could be your new best friend and partner! The countess is ready for your love and stability and can’t wait to meet her new family.

In the words of Real Housewife star Countess LuAnn de Lesseps: “One should know, never count out the countess!”
