Birdie is a beautiful and affectionate pup, weighing around 20 lbs and estimated to be between 2–3 years old. She was found with her best friend Squirrel and nine puppies. While we’ll never know which pups belonged to whom, Birdie stepped up and did the lion’s share of the mothering — a true testament to her nurturing heart.

Birdie is friendly and outgoing with people. She’s done wonderfully with children and gets excited when guests come over, eager to greet them with her wagging tail and bright personality. She loves affection, absolutely adores being on your lap, and is always ready for a cuddle session.

One of her favourite things is relaxing in the yard, soaking up the sun and enjoying the quiet moments. She has a playful side too — and when she gets really excited, she can become a little mouthy during play with people. It’s not harsh or mean-spirited at all — it’s more like she’s still figuring out how to show her excitement and just needs a bit of guidance.

With other dogs, Birdie does best with slow, respectful introductions. She prefers her space and doesn’t enjoy dogs in her face — but once she’s comfortable, she can coexist and engage calmly. She hasn’t met any cats yet, so we’re not sure how she’d feel about them.
