FROM THE FOSTER HOME

Meet Rose! Miss Rose is a playful young girl who was found with her 3 puppies in bad shape earlier this year. They all pulled through and when it was time to separate from them, she moved into her second foster home We think she's quite enjoying not being a mom anymore! She does well with the 2 bigger dogs she lives with currently but the little senior dog at her foster home just looks so fun to paw at, so we keep an eye on her with him. Her first foster had a little dog though and they got along!

Rose loves to chew on her nylon bones and play tug of war, and then she will crash for a nap. For a younger dog, she is not as "go go go" as you would expect. Rose likes her walks and playing but knows when it's time to relax. She is left out on her own with the dogs during the day and is not destructive or anxious, and sleeps in her foster's bed with the other dogs and does great. She only had one pee accident at her new foster's but she was just overwhelmed - it hasn't happened again!

Rose is a very loving pup. The best spot for her head during a nap happens to be your lap, and belly rubs and head scratches are her favourite! Her new foster has seen improvements on the leash already, especially when Rose becomes familiar with the area. She does need further training with pulling and learning her name, but she is a smart girl so it will come soon! She knows 'sit', 'no', 'shake a paw', and is getting the hang of "stay." Rose is also curious but calm when dogs are passing by on walks and the window. Her former foster said she can be timid of men (something in her past), but did warm up to her boyfriend, so slow introductions to men will be needed. Rose is also a bit of a wanna-be escape artist, so a 6ft fence is probably a good idea as well as watching her around open doors. She will need some recall training.

Overall, Rose is a sweet, eager-to-learn girl who would make an excellent family member. We think Rose would do great as a single dog or with another dog who likes to play. She needs someone to love her, train her and play with her. Rose will bring love to any house she joins.
